This week’s Orange County high school boys basketball rankings.

Notable this week: Mater Dei stays at No. 1 in the county rankings after advancing to the CIF-SS Division 1 championship game.  … Canyon is now No. 2 after defeating then-No. 2 JSerra in the Division 1 quarterfinals last week. …  Tesoro and Sage Hill move up after wins in the semifinals.

BOYS BASKETBALL TOP 25

(Records through Sunday, Feb.19)

1. Mater Dei 26-6: The continued growth of freshmen Luke Barnett and Brannon Martinsen and the steady play of senior Zack Davidson helped the Monarchs in their Division 1 quarterfinals win over Heritage Christian and semifinals win over Mira Costa. The Monarchs will face Etiwanda in the CIF-SS championship game.

2. Canyon 25-6: Sophomore Brandon Benjamin added to his player of the year candidacy with 32 points in a Division 1 quarterfinals win over JSerra and 30 points in a loss to Etiwanda in the semifinals.

3. JSerra 22-9: The Lions made a great run, winning eight in a row before losing to Canyon by two points in the Division 1 quarterfinals.

4. Orange Lutheran 21-10: The Lancers defeated Rancho Cucamonga in the Division 2AA quarterfinals and Oxnard by 21 points in the semifinals to reach their first CIF-SS boys basketball final in 11 years.

5. Pacifica Christian 23-9: The Tritons’ best season included winning the San Joaquin League championship but ended with a Division 2A semifinals loss to La Mirada.

6. Los Alamitos 23-7: The Griffins’ season included being co-champions in the Surf League and a victory over Santa Margarita in the Division 1 playoffs.

7. Santa Margarita 21-9: The Eagles had wins over JSerra, Mater Dei and Orange Lutheran in Trinity League games and a nonleague win over Orangewood Academy.

8. Tesoro 28-4: Carson Brown enhanced his O.C. player of the year candidacy by scoring 39 points in the Titans’ win over Culver City in the 2AA semifinals. The Titans are in a CIF-SS final for the first time since 2009.

9. Foothill 24-6: The Knights had wins over several county-ranked teams including Canyon, Villa Park, Newport Harbor and San Juan Hills.
