JSerra’s baseball team won for the second day in a row, defeating Etiwanda 6-1 in a CIF Southern Section Division 1 second-round playoff game at JSerra High School.
Ben Reimers pitched 6 1/3 innings, and three Lions hit home runs, Andrew Lamb, Dominic Smaldino and Jonathan Mendez.
JSerra beat Yucaipa 7-0 on Monday in a first-round game that was had been postponed last week of rain and unplayable conditions at Yucaipa.
The Lions (21-9), No. 3 in the Orange County Top 25, will play at home Friday in the quarterfinals against Sierra Canyon (19-10-2), which beat Cypress 2-1 on Tuesday.
JSerra won the CIF-SS Division 1 championship last season.
Also in Division 1:
Sierra Canyon 2, Cypress 1: Matt Morrell had three of the visiting Centurions’ eight hits but Cypress (23-8) could get only one run from those hits and lost to the Trailblazers.
Cypress was an Empire League co-champion with Pacifica. The Centurions are No. 6 in the Orange County rankings.
Orange Lutheran 1, Harvard-Westlake 0: Nic Peterson, Colt Peterson and Evan Miranda combined on a three-hitter for the host Lancers (21-10-1) in their win over the Wolverines (22-9) at Hart Park in Orange.
Casey Borba drove in the run.
Orange Lutheran, No. 4 in the county rankings, will play No. 7 Villa Park in a quarterfinal Friday at 3:15 p.m. at Hart Park, the Lancers’ home field
Santa Margarita 4, Long Beach Millikan 0: Sammy Cova pitched six shutout innings for the visiting Eagles (25-6).
Cova had seven strikeouts. Luke Johnson went 3 for 3 with 2 RBIs, Luke Lavin hit two doubles and drove in two runs and Blake Wilson contributed two hits and two RBIs.
Santa Margarita, No. 1 in the Orange County top 25, plays at home Friday against La Mirada (23-7) in the quarterfinals. La Mirada beat Torrance 3-2 on Tuesday.
In Division 2:
Ocean View 10, Quartz Hill 1: Cole Kenrich and Evyn Lewis each drove in three runs for the host Seahawks (20-10).
Owen Eisen pitched 6 2/3 innings with eight strikeouts.
Ocean View plays at top-seeded Aquinas (25-4) in the quarterfinals Friday. Aquinas is No. 7 in the CalHiSports.com state rankings.
Santiago of Corona 6, Mater Dei 5: The No. 5-ranked Monarchs (18-12-1) tied the game with three runs in the top of the seventh inning but Ethan Monroe’s walk-off home run won it for the host Sharks (18-12).
West Ranch 6, Tesoro 3: Jacob Lambdin was 3 for 4 and Tanner Tobias drove in two runs for the No. 10 Titans (22-9), who lost on the road. Tesoro won the South Coast League championship.
In Division 3:
Aliso Niguel 4, Redondo Union 0: Connor Etnire pitched a two-hitter for the visiting Wolverines (17-13). Jarett Sabol homered and drove in two runs and Chase Muirbrook added two RBIs for Aliso Niguel.
The Wolverines will play at top-seeded La Serna (26-2) in the quarterfinals Friday.
In Division 4:
Canyon 3, Northwood 0: Jackson Chastain and John Sova combined on the shutout for the host Comanches (18-12).
Brycen Brunswig and Benjamin Vargas had RBI singles for Canyon.
Canyon plays at Barstow in the quarterfinals Friday.
