BOYS BASKETBALL TOP 25

1. Mater Dei 27-6: Zack Davidson scored 27 points with 11 rebounds in the Monarchs’ 66-53 win over Etiwanda in the CIF-SS Division 1 final. The Monarchs are home Tuesday against La Costa Canyon in the CIF SoCal Regional first round.

2. Canyon 25-6: The CIF-SS playoffs ended for Canyon with a Division 1 semifinals loss to Etiwanda, but the season continues with a home game Tuesday against King/Drew of Los Angeles in the regional playoffs.

3. JSerra 22-9: The Lions, who tied for third place in the Trinity League, lost to Canyon on a last-second basket in the Division 1 quarterfinals. They had victories over SoCal Regional teams Pacifica Christian, Orange Lutheran, St. John Bosco and Tesoro.

4. Tesoro 29-4: The Titans held Orange Lutheran to eight points in the third quarter and two in the fourth in their 54-35 win in the CIF-SS 2AA final. Carson Brown scored 26 points. Tesoro plays at home Tuesday against Centennial of Bakersfield in the SoCal Regional.

5. Orange Lutheran 21-11: The Lancers lost to Tesoro 54-35 in the 2AA championship game. They play at home against Stockdale fo Bakersfield in a SoCal Regional Division II first-round game Tuesday.

6. Los Alamitos 23-7: The Griffins were Surf League co-champions with Edison and beat Santa Margarita in the CIF-SS Division 1 playoffs before losing to St. Paul in the second round.

7. Pacifica Christian 23-9: The Tritons lost to La Mirada in the Division 2A semifinals. They will play at Birmingham of Van Nuys in a CIF SoCal Regional Division II game Tuesday.

8. Santa Margarita 21-9: The Eagles tied for third place in the Trinity League, lost to Los Alamitos in the first round of the CIF-SS Division 1 playoffs.
