1. Orange Lutheran 12-2
Lancers won two of three Trinity League games against Mater Dei to improve their league-leading record to 7-2. Duke-signed lefty Oliver Santos struck out nine over 5.2 innings in one of the Orange Lutheran wins.
2. Servite 8-3
Friars swept previously-undefeated Santa Margarita in their three-game Trinity League series. Servite’s San Diego State-bound pitcher Xavier Cardenas limited the Eagles to one hit while striking out nine over 5.1 innings.
3. Huntington Beach 10-4
Oilers are off to 5-0 start in Surf League, including three-game sweep of Los Alamitos as Ralph Velasquez homered twice. They have won six in a row overall and play Edison in two league games this week.
4. Santa Margarita 12-3
One week after sweeping JSerra in Trinity League three-game series, Eagles were swept by Servite in three-game league series. They have a bounce-back chance this week with three games against Mater Dei.
5. Villa Park 12-1
Spartans extended their winning streak to nine games with a 7-5, eight-inning win over Foothill in which Jack Burke delivered a two-run hit in the eighth.
6. Foothill 11-6
Knights lost to Villa Park in extra innings, and they defeated El Dorado 2-1 as Cameron Kessel pitched five shutout innings in relief and Aidan Taurek homered.
7. El Dorado 12-6
Garvey Rumary struck out 12 in six innings of a win over Canyon, then drove in the winning run in a 3-2 triumph over Cypress.
8. Cypress 11-3-2
Centurions lost to El Dorado by one run in their only game of the week, ending their winning streak at seven.
9. JSerra 8-9
After being swept in three games by Santa Margarita two weeks ago, Lions won two of three league games against St. John Bosco. They play a hot Servite team three times this week.
10. Trabuco Hills 13-2
Mustangs swept Aliso Niguel in a two-game Sea View League series. They got a two-hitter from Tyler Byrns in a 6-1 win that included Garrett Strenger’s four RBIs. They also defeated Northwood in a nonleague game.
